Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film famous for her performance in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The only one child to Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu Alexandra, she entered entertainment early and began performing lead roles in various TV dramas before she reached the age of 16. Following her highly praised role in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge on Downfall. This film was nominated for an Oscar and was praised by critics. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are other Oscar nominated films that feature female stars. Alexandra participated in several well-known international and national projects throughout the past few years. The most notable of these include British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and French history mini-series Napoleon and many more. The actress was also a member of juries for the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
